Brace With Grace-19 is a business started April 5, 2020 with the aim to raise funds for UNC Health and WakeMed's COVID-19 response effort. As many in Wake County and NC have been affected by the virus, we hope to not only remind others that we'll get through this together, but also provide products made with sincerity, compassion, and care that can help during these challenging times.
25% of proceeds generated from our products will be donated.

UNC Health and WakeMed in Desperate Need of Donations

Wake County currently has one of the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 than any other region in North Carolina. As the only community health system with seven emergency departments and three hospitals throughout the region, WakeMed is prepared to play a significant role in our community’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak. This is an important opportunity to support the dedicated healthcare workers and organizations that have stepped up to put the health of this community first and foremost – in many cases, above their own families, friends and neighbors.
25% of the fund's Brace With Grace-19 raises will be donated to Wake Med's donation page at www.wakemed.org/covid-19-donation-page

The money allocated will be put towards areas with the greatest of needs related to Covid-19 including, but not limited to:

Increased Testing Capacity: Scaling operations to facilitate rapid COVID-19 testing at select outpatient location(s) for both the community and our healthcare workers.

Telemedicine & Community Support: Deploying telemedicine to area homeless shelters throughout the community – which will reduce emergency room volumes at a critical time and allow for the rapid screening of a vulnerable population to reduce community spread of COVID-19.

Helping Those in Crisis: WakeMed’s Patient & Family Support fund provides resources to patients and families in crisis due to COVID-19 such as food, transportation, childcare and/or housing.

Supporting Healthcare Workers: WakeMed’s Employee Assistance Fund provides financial resources to healthcare workers experiencing hardship due to COVID-19 such as illness, childcare, and/or other emergency situations. This fund also enhances WakeMed’s ability to implement employee support programs for healthcare workers during this difficult time.

Other urgent projects and programs identified by clinical leaders relates to COVID-19.

Meet Our Team
Maddy Chen is a junior at Green Hope High School in Cary, NC. After learning about the COVID-19 outbreak, she was inspired to start a business that would give back to those in need, specifically those impacted by the virus. She truly wants to help and has worked tirelessly to create something that is unique, effective, and meaningful to her. Maddy has put her heart and soul into Brace With Grace-19 and hopes that the effort transmits through every product. She will do all she can to offer the best quality and service to you. Recently, Maddy volunteered at Crosspointe Church and made 50+ bags of meals for families in the community. She encourages others to also donate supplies or contribute their time to volunteer at local drives. Much like the spread of the virus, the wonders of community giving can be exponential.
Sarah Chikha is also a junior at Green Hope High School. She is the creative mastermind behind Brace with Grace-19. Without her, all the amazing products and unique designs seen on this website would not be possible. Like Maddy, she wishes to use her time at home and the resources she has to do something meaningful. She hopes that you enjoy the bracelets offered as both her and Maddy put care and effort into each one. Sarah is incredibly open to any feedback or requests for specialized/personalized products. She hopes you consider supporting the business.
