The Okra Project provides home-cooked meals cooked by Black trans chefs, teaches its recipients to cook, and provides other resources to Black trans people who are experiencing food insecurity. This organization is a collective that addresses food insecurity among Black trans people by bringing healthy, home-cooked meals and resources to Black trans folks. For those who are experiencing homelessness or who live in spaces that can’t accommodate cooking, The Okra Project has partnered with other institutions to deliver food in different ways.
